Our Jilin plant recently successfully launched production of Biosol (biobutanol, bioacetone) and related products. The existing facility has a capacity of 100,000 metric tons (30 million gallons) total solvents per annum.

Butanol is an important chemical and industrial solvent. Currently, China relies on imports for a significant share of its butanol demand. Bio-butanol is also a promising biofuel candidate.

Cathay is currently producing biobutanol from corn at capacity in Jilin and exploring a variety of different feedstocks, including cellulosic biomaterials.
